As someone who has been running for several years, I chose to go with Vicki as my first ever running coach.
I was running the 2023 edition of the London Marathon. The last full marathon distance I ran was in 2018 – so it was after a very long break.
During that time, I had been injured and was plagued with symptoms of long Covid. I was unable to defer my place in LM so I decided to go for it.
The best thing I did though was ask Vicki to help me train.
Vicki was very involved in the session planning and every session was different and varied. After the sessions, her feedback was always positive. She was very flexible with the training plan & very happy to move things around if I had family or social engagements. During training, there would be days when I did not understand why I was running so hard or so long. It was also cold & dark. However, I trusted Vicki and that saw me through some very difficult training runs.
I finished the marathon, running the distance with a steady pace. This was the first time I had competed a marathon without having to slow down after mile 20. I finished strong and enjoyed the post-marathon buzz!
Marathon training can be very hard and demanding. It’s easy to want to give up or not do the harder workouts. Going with Vicki gave me that structure, discipline and it made me accountable.
I would absolutely 100% recommend Vicki as a coach to see you succeed as a runner.
