Darren joined me in June looking for accountability and structure with his running after securing a place in his first marathon in London 2022.  Darren had a good running base and was looking for structure and challenge to help him achieve a target marathon time.  Despite dealing with a few challenges towards the end of his training block, Darren finished the marathon smiling and with a future good for age time achieving 3.13 in his first marathon.

Darren’s testimonial

Back in June this year I decided that my running and training required much more structure and focus. I was lucky enough to have received a place in London and my aim was to run a good time in my first marathon.

I was introduced to Vicki and very quickly I could see that we would work well together. I knew that I would need to be 100% committed and from day one, the plan, the ongoing feedback and encouragement could not have been any better.

Vicki is always on hand for any chats and provides feedback on all my training , how it’s going and any minor changes that may be needed. We have regular zoom calls given we live at other ends of the country and these work extremely well.

I found her advice and guidance excellent throughout the summer and my training went better than I could have ever asked. However, I found that Vicki’s help 6 weeks before the marathon was priceless. Unfortunately, I picked up an injury and Vicki kept me positive and changed my training to suit. This involved very little running and lots of cross training to help keep my fitness, but more importantly lots and lots of encouragement and regular chats.

I managed to drag myself to the start line in London and managed to run 3.13 in my first marathon which means that I now qualify for a good for age place in the future.

I feel the time, commitment , guidance and Help that Vicki gives is exceptional and helps me to continue to achieve my goals.
